Music Rising – Instrument Replacement Program of MusiCares
MusiCares, in partnership with Gibson Guitar and Guitar Center Music Education Foundation, has developed a campaign to provide replacement instruments and accessories to musicians affected by the hurricanes that devastated the Gulf Coast region. The campaign’s goal is to put musical instruments back into the hands of all musicians who lost everything in the hurricane disasters and to help them regain their livelihood. Gibson and Guitar Center spearheaded the initial effort by collaborating on the design, manufacture and sale of an exclusive Gibson guitar with all proceeds going directly to the Music Rising program. The guitar will be available through Guitar Center and a very limited quantity will be produced. All proceeds will benefit Music Rising.

U2’s The Edge announced the unveiling of Music Rising on November 21st. Participating partners include Conn-Selmer, the largest US distributor of band and orchestral instruments, VH1 and MTV Networks, Ticketmaster, SpinCo and Kennedy-Marshall.

MusiCares will be handling the application and qualification process. For more information or to apply for Music Rising assistance: Online Application Information
