The Senior Care Program helps entertainment industry professionals, who are 65 years or older, their family and care givers to address a myriad of issues they may face on a daily basis.
Whether it means helping someone investigate housing alternatives or working with a family to organize homecare, our experienced social workers develop a plan to meet each person’s unique needs. Services also include assessment, advocacy, access to entitlements or other benefits, financial management and assistance, referral to elder law attorneys and general information and referral. Local home and hospital visits are possible when necessary.
Since medical coverage is often of great concern, our Senior Care Program works closely with our Health Insurance Resource Center to provide information about health insurance, medigap policies and prescription programs. In addition, our social workers can facilitate applications to the The Lillian Booth Actors Home as well as to The Dorothy Ross Friedman Residence (formerly The Aurora).
Eligibility for The Fund's financial assistance program requires an application, documentation of your professional earnings and an interview. In general, eligibility for financial assistance is based on:
ENCORE - A Seniors Group for Entertainment Industry Professionals 65 and Over
ENCORE is an ongoing once-monthly process group -- for entertainment industry professionals 65 and over -- which offers a safe place to explore the challenges of growing older in “the business.” Our members form friendships, offer each other support, and together, they are building a community of vibrant, creative seniors.
The group is free, confidential and open to all professionals in performing arts and entertainment. To ensure a positive group experience, an interview will be required prior to attendance.
